"The United Kingdom is made up of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland. Although it is a small country, the UK has had a huge influence on the world because of its cultural, military and industrial strengths. At one time, it controlled a vast empire sf lands across the globe and was the world's leading industrial nation. Traditional manufacturing industries are now less important. In the 21st century the UK's main industries are technology, tourism and services such as banking and it is still and important economic power."

Hannah's view
This year, the UK has sent Andy Abraham to Belgrade with his own song, Even If. This decision, when announced on the results show of UK's Eurovision: Your Decision sent shockwaves through the country.

Andy was a contestant on a talent contest called X Factor, on which he did very well. When he preformed on Eurovision: Your Decision he got to the finals against Michelle Gayle, who was singing a song called Woo (You Make Me). Not only did most of the country, including me and Nathan, think that this song ought to win, but so did both of the judges on the show. When the result came through that Andy had won, everyone was gobsmacked. Me and Nathan were ranting about the British publics opinions for days.

Andy's song is not bad. Its upbeat ad catchy. The lyrics are very touching and work well with the rhythm of the piece. I also like the 'break it down' bit in te middle of the song, it works very well. Andy is also a very good and enthusiastic performer. All this said, the UK's entry is not the best, in my opinion.

Warning - Rant imminent...
Hur svårt kan det va for the UK to pick the right song?! Not very!!! Oh My God... The British public do not know what's right! First bloody Leon wins X Factor 4 instead of Rhydian, or even Same Difference, and now Andy Abraham (X Factor 2 runner up) beats 90s pop singer Michelle Gayle in Eurovision: Your Decision. Even the judges thought the Michelle should've won. Both me and my neighbours voted at least twice for Michelle and thought we wouldn't have to do any more as she would win comfortably. What has annoyed me most, I think, is the fact that the BBC haven't released the voting results from Eurovison: Your Decision so we can't see how close it was. I only know one person who wanted Andy to win and however much Even If grows on me, Woo (You Make Me) was the perfect Eurovison song.

So British public - yet again, you have done yourselves proud...
